Personal Resume


  • Dr. Shuwen Pei is currently a research professor at the Department of Paleoanthropology and Paleolithic Archaeology, Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology (IVPP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. degree at the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003.

    His main research interests are the Chinese Paleoanthropology, Geoarchaeology and Paleolithic studies. He is also involved in the study of archaeological site formation processes, lithic technology, and paleo-environment reconstruction during Pleistocene in order to better understand the human evolution and behavioral adaptations in China. 

    Till now, he has coauthored over 120 scientific papers. He has also received a number of Projects including National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Research Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Basic Scientific Special Program of MST of China.
