Abstract: A fossil human tooth was found in Guoshan cave in 1982. The site is about 15 km to the north of the city of Zhaotong in Yunnan ProvinceThe tooth is left lower second molar. Aceording to its morphological features, it can be attributed to Homo sapiens. The associated mammal remains include Stegodon sp. , Rhinoceros sp. , Tapirus sp. , Bovinae and Cervus sp. The fauna is considered to be of Late Pleistocene in age.
